Aaanndd I'm Back
It's been a while. A long while, really. A lot has happened since Spring 2019. Has it been three years? It feels like less and more than that at the same time. Some things that have happened we all know about, of course, so I won't bring up those. But you might be wondering why this blog was put on pause.
Starting in 2019, I had to go for several surgical procedures. Then in 2021, I managed to injure my hip, and for over a year I could barely walk. Most of my hobbies were sharply curtailed as a result, including this blog and my online shop. In August, I had surgery to repair my hip, and although I still have a lot of recovery and physical therapy left, it's easier (and less painful) to get around now.
Despite all that, there have been some new things going on! While I was unable to write longer, detailed posts, I hopped over to Instagram, and I've been posting pics of projects there. I've tried some new types of crafting, such as embroidery, while I've been unable to use my sewing machines. My hand stitching has improved enough that I don't absolutely dread it anymore, hehe. The Facebook page has some new links to articles and tutorials as well, mostly related to sewing, that I've come across while working on those new projects.
But perhaps the biggest update is that Sew Knit Home now has videos! It's something I've wanted to try for years; I know I mentioned it a couple times before everything went awry. The YouTube channel is now here! There are only a few videos so far, but I'm hoping to add more over time as things continue to improve. Stay tuned! And check out the links to the other channels under the heading 'Follow Me'.
