Happy New Year!

It is officially the last day of 2022. Somehow it seems like 2022 just started, but has also lasted two years, doesn't it? Or maybe that's just me. I'm not good at judging time. I hope y'all had some fun with projects, learned some new techniques, and got to try at least one new thing, whether it was a hobby, a food, or something else.

I know last time we talked about plaids. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish my Christmas projects in time for Christmas. My inauspicious start continued; while cutting the second project, I ran out of fabric and had to make a rather panicky run to the closest Joann store. They did have some of that fabric still in stock, and it was on sale, so my project will have sleeves after all! And I had serious problems with a neckline facing. Don't worry, I wrote myself some notes to stick into the pattern envelope for next time. I'll also post them online when everything is done (in case I come across anything else in the pattern that needs a note). I have about three steps left on each pattern. So while I'm a little disappointed I didn't meet my own deadline, it's probably the fastest I've ever made two things simultaneously. The plan was actually to make one after the other, but at some point I forgot that, and just started working on both.

Now, instead of Christmas projects, they'll be projects for the new year. I don't want to keep everyone in suspense, though, so I've put a picture of the patterns I'm using. I modified a few of the details, but nothing major. Stay tuned for pictures of the finished items, along with some pattern notes. See you next year! Hehe.
